Antique Agateware Mottled Gray Lidded Berry Bucket Wire Handle
Description: A nice antique agateware or graniteware berry bucket or pail with a lid. This primitive bucket has a round flat base with straight rising sides having a rolled rim originally colored in black but has lost quite a bit of the coloring. The pail has a lid with a central squared loop on top to pull it off. The bucket has two side metal loops at the top which are used to hang a wire handle having a turned wooden grip. The piece has a nice blue gray colored enamel with black mottling throughout the exterior and interior. The lid is enameled, has the same color scheme as the rest of the piece with the black colored loop in the center and fits well on the top and closes the pail tightly. This beautiful American agateware berry pail has a beautiful design, color, and shape. The bottom of the piece is also enameled in the same coloring as the entire exterior of the pot. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely late 1800 to early 1900s.Origin: Was acquired at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Size
